SP leader suspended for demanding RS seat for Memon’s widow: Hours after the last rites of Yakub Memon were performed, politics encircling him took a fresh turn having a senior Samajwadi Party leader seeking a parliament seat Raheen, for Yakub’s wife.
The Vice President of the Maharashtra unit of SP, Mohammed Farooq Ghosi wrote a letter to the national leader Mulayam Singh Yadav setting forth his request that Raheen has to be given a parliament seat as she’s endured a lot of party.
Yet, shortly after that he was removed by the party from his place following a backlash on social media as well as from various other party leades.

Senior party leaders didn’t have an explanation when their answer was sought by this correspondent on the letter of Ghosi while Ghosi did not react to calls.
State SP leader, Abu Azmi, sought to scrub his hands off the issue. We’d no thought about such demand as Ghosi and we have not consulted before approaching Mulayam Singh Yadav. I talked over the telephone to him and he confessed that the letter was written by him in private ability. Nonetheless, the proposition of making Yakub’s wife an MP is incorrect as she isn’t a political man,” said Azmi.
Azmi additionally asserted that actions would be initiated by the party against Ghosi but didn’t elaborate.
